Taig Micro Hobby Lathe

This includes everything you will need to turn and cut round metal up to 4-1/2" diameter and 9-3/4" length. Included are: Taig 15" bed Micro Lathe, 1/4 HP motor, 18" x 12" mounting board, 3 jaw chuck, 1/4" Jacobs drill chuck, 6 piece tool bit set, wrenches, lever-operated tailstock, pulley set and belt.

The lathe was designed for industrial use and is heavily overbuilt for modeling use. The bed of the Taig lathe is unique. The 2-1/4" wide precision ground bedway is attached to an extruded aluminum bed, which is filled with a material to make it "dead" and very rigid. The bed mounts on the baseboard only at the headstock end. This makes cleanup easier and reduces the chance of distorting the bed by uneven clamping. The tailstock is lever-actuated so you can feed a drill bit in the Jacobs chuck as fast as you want - a horizontal drillpress!
