Seize the UMX Beast 3D, Equipped with AS3X, and Control the Air |
The E-flite UMX™ Beast® 3D is a totally new experience in all-out 3D flight capability and satisfaction from an amazing aircraft that doesn't need any more space than a small park, yard or indoor gym to be enjoyed. Enhanced with the AS3X System, the UMX Beast 3D is specifically set with an aft CG and large control surface deflections for maximum maneuverability. However, instead of handling that feels super-sensitive, the UMX Beast 3D, with the AS3X System, flies ultra smooth, even in conditions considered windy. Plus, you get locked-in precision and the outstanding control authority necessary to perform 3D more confidently.
Designed by aerobatic world champion Quique Somenzini, this authentic UMX re-creation of the full-scale Beast delivers precision aerobatic and 3D excitement with the kind of stability and authority more in common with aircraft many times its actual size. And you get all the benefits without having to spend a lot of time programming. No mixing is required - just add your Li-Po battery, bind to a basic DSM2™/DSMX airplane transmitter setup, and the UMX Beast 3D will instantly offer you the best flight experience possible.

AS3X System Equipped UMX Airplanes Deliver the Ultimate RC Pilot Experience |
|
The AS3X™ System delivers breakthrough performance for UMX airplanes and the freedom a pilot can use to experience RC flight that's more enjoyable than ever dreamed possible.
The AS3X System for airplanes is an exclusive electronic and setup enhancement that makes it possible for you to experience super-smooth flight performance, yet still have full control authority for the kind of flying you want to perform. The advantage of AS3X to the RC pilot is a dream come true.
An industry-first, AS3X technology in UMX airplanes is exciting because it helps the pilot focus more on the thrill of being the pilot of an expertly tuned airplane, than work load required to stay in smooth control. No longer will you have to deal intensely with flight complications such as turbulence, torque and tip stalls. All you feel is ultra-smooth control even outdoors in moderate wind so that you're allowed to experience exhilarating aircraft agility that feels natural and allows you to quickly build skills as an RC pilot. |
|
It's all about control. Before AS3X, stability and agility were typically limited to a narrow control range any attempt to gain more stability meant a sacrifice of agility or vice versa. With AS3X, there is no compromise. You get dramatically more control, plus more stability and agility than ever dreamed possible. Whether you're an airplane or helicopter pilot, the comprehensive control AS3X offers feels very natural, even in moderate winds, so you always get the best flying experience possible.
AS3X equipped aircraft will change the way you'll want to fly now and in the future.
There's nothing special you need to do to take advantage of the invigorating control an AS3X System equipped airplane will offer you. Every airplane equipped with the AS3X System is painstakingly tuned so that you enjoy the locked-in feel and control authority that will help show off your RC pilot skills | Technical Specifications:

I gave it 2 stars because i don't consider the airplane durable. I fly from a grass field , It cannot handle grass only pavement. On grass hand launch is required or as i do take off from a table. On landing the plane will flip over. If U land much above a stall, damage will result. After 20 flites the wings cracked I repaired with foam safe CA. The battery which is xtra.has a plug which doesnot fit any charger I had or could find.. Rigged an adapter from a batch of plugs from my scrap box. Do some indoor flying in a gym. Would not even consider flying this one indoors as it is very fast.
Pretty airplane but would recommend only for advanced flyers outdoors off pavement.

The only reason I didn't give this airplane a 5 star rating is because of the battery. It comes without a battery. Plus Eflite, for some reason, has taken it upon themselves to change the little white balance plug to one that's non standard on the battery for this airplane. There is only one plug on this 7.4v 180 mah 20C battery and it's like a balance plug. On every other 7.4v battery that I use there's either a JST plug, Deans plug, or "bullet" plugs plus the white balance plug.
My wife bought this airplane for me for Christmas at a LHS and I was with her. I had to buy the battery(s) for $19.99 each on top of the $149.95 that she spent for the airplane. When I saw that there was just one plug and it was a balance plug, I asked the store owner how you charged it since the balance plug was smaller than than a standard plug. He assured me that you just plug it into the balance circuit board on my Thunder AC6 charger. NOPE, not possible as I was to find out. The single plug on the battery LOOKS like a standard balance plug but the pin holes are closer together and because of this the plug wouldn't fit any of the MANY chargers that I own.
I went on Horizon's website and they show a bag containing 4 various plug converters with about 4 inches of wiring between 2 different plugs on each end. Unfortunately they don't tell you what the plugs fit so it's a crap shoot when you buy this $10.00 bag of wired connectors. I got so disheartened trying to find something to charge the 7.4v 180 mah 20C battery that... I took everything back to the LHS and they refunded my wifes money. I did buy a Parkzone 3 channel J-3 Cub for my wife to advance to after she gets comfortable with her Ember 2. She says she'll leave my Pole Cat and Sukhoi 26xp alone for now. lol
I'm guessing they have also changed to this battery on the new Hyper Taxi BNF and Gee Bee R2 BNF with the AS3X flight system. I couldn't find any place (that stated conclusively) that Eflite's own battery charger will charge this battery and I didn't want to spend an additional $140.00 to find out!
Beautiful airplane but... the battery sux.
