the aircrafft looked wonderful,nice detail etc.
first problem, flying off very short grass,less than 1/2",having a friend hold the tail and then I ran th throttle up,and it went less than 20' and up on it's nose,I pulled the power back instantly as ith prop hit and smoke acme out of the cowl...smoked the ESC,called and explained,they sent me a new ESC,nice people..back to the field,same problemwith full up elevator and full power,it nosed over again,as soon as I saaw it was going over,killed the throttle,smoked another esc,no tolerance for hitting the prop.
called and talked to JAson and explained,the problem again and he agreed to send me another newer 35 amp esc and said it would withstand a prob strike.as a top gun flyer and designer of my 90 " stuka for top gun and also a high statice winner ,FW-190 A8,I am not new to the hobby..
looking over the model sitting on the table,I soon realized the gear is to far back.almost all taildragger aircraft have the axel of the wheel on the leading edge when viewed from the side or top..this model's wheels did not not even show up looking down ...puting the gear axel back almost 1" and closer to the CG allowing the thrust of the propeller to pull the model over on it's nose..this doesn happen on pavement as there is no resistants ,it is not a good design to be flown of grass..i bent the gear foreward almost 1" and then cut the tire well out almost on the leading edge of the wing.
I hope this proves to be a cure to flying off SHORT grass,less than 1/2 inch..I like the quality of the aircraft but feel to bump the prop at all smokes the ESC and the landing gear location was 2 faults that shouldn't have to be dealt with.
I will install the new ,larger esc and hope the new foreward gear location will solve my problem.
I know feed back is important and Jason and the folks at Hobby Lobby have worked with me on the ESC and I hope my moving the gear foreward solves the noseing over problem..not sure how the designer of the model with take this suggestion as it requires a new mold design in the wing.

This is one nice plane. I was amazed at the great looks of the plane and the ease of getting it ready to fly. The only thing I changed from stock was the battery. I used a 2200 25-50 c 3 cell. The plane needed a little right rudder on take off and climbed out like a love sick angel. It flies like on rails and quite quickly when given more than 1/2 throttle. Just make sure you don't have more than 3-4 mm of throw up and 3-4 mm down on the elevator. I found out the elevator is VERY VERY sensitive. It lands slowly and gently when given a long approach. It will float for a long way before touching down. This is probably one of the best flying warbirds in my hanger. Not for beginners but would be ok for someone with low wing experience. I highly recommend this plane and thank Hobby Lobby for making it available.

I have been waiting for months and months for this A6M. THANK YOU HL. Exceptional Detail. I could not be more happy with this Zero. Easy to follow instructions, I Installed a 6 CH Spektrum RX and the Zero was ALIVE. Excellent quality, runs smooth. After a couple of servo horn adjustments, pre-flight check, made a rolling take off and flies like a champion. Many onlookers. Smooth landings, nice power, performs smooth turns and acrobatics effortlessly, even with just a 5 channel radio.
All I can say to true Zero fans is WOW. Need to have this one in your hanger.
