I have made about ten flights with this plane now, and really enjoy its unique looks and pleasant performance. If you are thinking about buying one you might want to hear my experiences with the build and flying qualities.

The quality of the components is excellent. It is a foam plane, but not the solid kind like many of the cheaper foam models out there. It is essentially a hollow foam shell, and as such is very light and requires a delicate touch during assembly. The quality is excellent, but it pays to have a light touch during the assembly process. The instructions are a little vague, but by checking the illustrations and reading the text, eventually you should be able to figure everything out. The wing servo installation is a little tricky, as a very small servo is required and care is required to ensure that there is no excessive friction in the cables (which could over stress that small servo). There is very little room in the fuselage for the motor, battery, ESC and servos (as usual in a WWI model, the components are all cramped together in the nose for CG requirements), so plan ahead so you can be sure your battery will fit. You really don't have any flexibility to rearrange the internal components, as the structure is pretty much laid out and can't be altered.

One note about the decals. Multiple sets of decals are provided to match several different aircraft decorations. The decals are very high quality, easy to apply, and really make the model stand out. My biggest problem was trying to figure out which set I liked best!

Flying qualities have been very pleasant. The model is not overly sensitive and has a very scale-like presence in the air. The controls allow for any scale WWI maneuver and should not be a problem for anybody with a little aileron experience. Although a very light model, it has held up to some hard landings as a result of the wheels getting caught in the grass at my field. I was afraid that this plane might be too fragile for this type of flying, but it has shown no damage from flipping over on every single landing.

In summary, it requires a little bit of care in the assembly, but provides a very good flying experience and looks great in the air. I am really glad I bought it.

Being a W W 1 aircraft enthusiast I had to have this little plane. Outfitted with the gear Hobby Lobby recommends this little plane will move, almost straight up. This is not a beginners plane. mine needs hands on throughout the flight. The build instructions could have been better. Installing the Hobby Lobby recommended brushless engine took a little thinking but I finally got er. It's a beauty in the air and gives you a feel of what the skies looked like in the year's of World War 1

Flies very well for its size. Recommended for those who want a biplane but have small cars. Just be sure not to fly in too much wind.
