Cirrus V-Tail Sailplane

The full-size Cirrus, designed by Claus Holighaus, was the first sailplane with GRP wings, and had a wingspan of 58 feet, with a retractable wheel.

The Graupner model has a 177" wingspan, is 68" long, weighs 211 ounces, and has an Eppler 203 mod. airfoil. The sailplane is an almost Ready to Fly model (ARTF) with GRP fuselage and carbon fiber reinforcements, hollow-molded CFRP / GRP wing and tail panels, GRP canopy frame, round steel wingrod and tailplane joiner, accurately machine-trimmed canopy, and working airbrakes. The fuselage is marked for an optional retract unit and there are laser-cut formers for the optional retractable wheel unit.
