Exceptionally well engineered jet, flies smooth and fast - two 66mm fans included |
47" wingspan, 53-1/4" long, 370 sq. in. wing area, 47 oz. flying weight. Molded bead foam construction. Fuselage comes with the two 66mm fans pre-installed, ready for the motors and the foam engine nacelles. The wings are reinforced with carbon tubes and have molded recesses for aileron servos; wing tips are made of wood and pre-covered. Molded pockets with plywood mounting blocks for the installation of the landing gear are pre-installed in the wings and accept the included fixed gear or the optional retract gear (SFM3501B). Fuselage has the mount for the steerable nose gear pre-installed; just screw the fixed steerable gear in place. The ailerons, elevator and rudder are made of balsa and covered with heat-shrink film. They are pre-installed and the hinges are pre-pinned for safety. The fuselage has wooden servo mounts and battery tray pre-installed. Jet accelerates quickly and easily takes off from a smooth surface/runway with a strong climb rate. Jet can be hand launched and will belly land easily, without damage when the landing gear is removed. Plastic covers are provided to cover the landing gear openings if you do not install the landing gear. Speed is impressive even with the fixed gear. Flight is smooth and solid; the stall is at a very low speed and is not severe. The glide is amazing; the setup for a landing needs a long approach or you will glide right on by. Flight times with the two 1800 mAh packs in parallel are about 7-10 minutes of varied flying. Assembly is easy and takes about 4-6 hours for the fixed gear version, and about an hour or two more for the retracts. For 4-channels: Aileron (2 servos), Elevator, Rudder/Nose steering, and Throttle. A 5th channel is required if you wish to add the retractable landing gear. Technical Specifications: | Length: | 53-1/4" | | Wingspan: | 47" | | Flying Weight: | 47 oz. | | Controls: | Ailerons, Elevator, Rudder, Throttle | | Wing Area: | 370 sq. in. |

This aircraft was my first ducted fan rc plane.m and my third total rc plane The kit was a bargain at $100m and ended up being about $550 after tax and all other pieces. Assembly was mostly strait forward and fairly easy. I took it out for the maiden flight and had one of my rc field's instructors maiden it. It lifted off easy, and after trimming it out, it flew great! I used the suggested control throws and turns were very smooth and easy. It also handled basic aerobatics like loops and rolls very well. It was rather difficult to stall it, and in general it was extremely stable. Although it was very windy, my instructor had no trouble landing it, and I could tell the wind had minimal effects on it. The maiden flight lasted about 8 minutes, using BL420 motors from E-FLite and Hyperion 3S 2100mah batteries. I could probably push it to 10 minutes for the second flight. Overall, this aircraft is cheap, sturdy, stable, and an excellent first ducted fan aircraft. It doesn't go screaming fast, but moves along nicely. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who want their first ducted fan aircraft, if they have a couple of other planes under their belt, or for anyone looking for their second or third ducted fan aircraft.
My RC experience: Built and flew a plug-and-play trainer for my first plane, and built and flew the E-FLite Bonanza ARF. I have ben flying RC planes for about 9 months.

I'VE HAD THIS JET FOR AWHILE AND AFTER A DOZEN FLIGHTS IT IS HOLDING UP FINE.WHAN I GOT IT I ADDED EXTRA 30 MINUTE EPOXY TO ALL THE SEAMS, TOOK OUT AND RE EPOXYED THE FIXED GEAR, ADDED CARBON FIBER TO THE TAIL HORIZONTAL STABALIZER AND WENT WITH DONS RC MOTORS AND ESC'S.I LOVE THIS PLANE, ITS EASY TO SEE AND HAS A NICE LANDING SPEED. I FLY 5 MINUTES AND ITS GOOD FOR MORE THAN THAT BUT SOMETIMES I HAVE TO DO A GO AROUND IF ANOTHER PLANE IS LANDING AND I WANT THE POWER SO 5 MINUTES IS SET ON MY DX6I FOR THIS JET. I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER EXE JET ON ORDER JUST IN CASE I HAVE A MISHAP.I DON'T WANT TO BE WITH OUT THIS PLANE IN MY HANGER.MANY THANKS TO DAVID AT HOBBY LOBBY FOR TELLING ME HOW MUCH I WOULD LOVE THIS JET AND FOR PLACING ME ON THE PRE-ORDER LIST FOR ANOTHER. I bought my Executive Jet some time ago and finally finished building it the other day. When I took it to the golf course where I fly I was just going to taxi it around for a little because it was getting late. Well when I got going down the runway I just couldn't help myself and had to take off. It looked so good as it was gaining altitude and I leveled it off and I must say that this is one great flying machine. I set it up the way Hobby Lobby recommended and it has plenty of power. Takeoff on grass was about 70 feet. The only trim I had to do was just three clicks of up elevator. The rest of the settings were fine. It tracks very well and again it has plenty of power. Landings are very smooth under a little power. If you take your time when you are building the airplane you will not be disappointed with the results. I will have to say that this is one of the best flying airplanes I have in my fleet of around 70. SFM did a great job with this one and I'm glad Hobby-Lobby carries it. This is not a beginner airplane but as you get better and move up I would highly recommend the Executive Jet. Again all I can say about how it handles and the power is sweet sweet sweet.
