The finish and fit seems to be great. However, for a novice builder new to the hobby the directions leave a lot to be desired. I found more clear instructions on some online forums with picture in color and some great changes in control placement for puch rods. I have not started on my adventure to assemble all the parts but I am looking forward to the challenge and have a fun aircraft to fly and show off at the field.

I had the original in the early 80's, flew it with a K&B .40. Always thought it would be "Funner" with something bigger.
I bought this kit and put a vintage OS .61SF long stroke in it. I reinforced the firewall and front of he fuse. Had to add a bit of tail weight to balance out the .61. Gosh what a great plane!
Wide open it screams and flys like a pattern plane. Throttle back And you have your pussycat.
The kit left a little to be desired, the fuse was built crooked, and it is very thinned out, so needs some bracing. The original spar rod bends on every flight, so I shoved a solid rod inside the hollow tube to beef it up. It helped, but still bends every flight some.
Really is a do it all plane. Dropped the flaps throttle back, and fly backwards in a wind. full throttle with a 12x6 prop it will tear up the sky!

I was very excited to see the Funster RC model reintroduced.

I built two of the original Funster models during the early - mid 80's. The original was so much fun to fly that I ordered a second kit and modified it into a twin engine plane. I installed two 2 stroke engines, size 25, and flew the twin for years before selling it to a friend. This was before ARFs and twin engine planes were generally available, if I remember correctly.

Then I moved on to scale planes with more complications related to enclosed engines, twin cylinder engines, remote glow drivers and so on. Recently, I found myself spending more time on the ground trying to fix problems than actually flying. It's the age factor on the pilot for one thing which got me to thinking electric and Funster.

I must agree with Hobby Lobby, "nothing flies like a Telemaster" or the Funster.

There are some minor problems with the new Funster kit, NOT THE PLANE.

The aileron push rods were too short by at least 1/2 inch. The Elevator and Rudder push rods need to be slightly longer. They also squeaked when moving front to rear though the guide brackets (slots). I replaced both with a plastic tubing and steel cable with locking clevis push rods.

In my case, the plane balanced tail heavy using the AXI 2826/12 motor, the recommended ESC, and a 4,000 mah motor battery. To solve this problem, I moved my separate flight pack battery into the cowl area below the motor (had to make and install mounting platform). Also mounted the ESC above the motor with the rear extended through a slot already in the firewall. This put the rear half of the ESC extended into the motor battery compartment. I added a small plastic spinner for looks and nose weight. The plane is now balanced as recommended.

One more thing that would be most helpful. The instructions tell you to remove the covering to glue the stabilizer into place. The kit could be improved by including a covering trim piece to cover the two new balsa triangle pieces added to reinforce the tail assembly. Hobby Lobby offered to send a piece of matching covering but I found a match in my stock.

The AXI 2826/12 motor, the ESC recommended by Hobby Lobby, and a 4000 mah battery allows me to fly scale like for about 15 minutes. I can't say enough about how stable this plane flies, even in 10 - 15 mph winds. Battery and ESC cooling is not a problem.

If you like flying low and slow, this plane is it. With flaps down, you might just find yourself parking it on the runway with a 10 mph head wind.

I highly recommend this plane for uneventful no stress flying. I made several flights yesterday and again today. Now I am wishing for a new electric Telemaster.

I owned the original Funster ARF and the V2 is a disappointment. It balances tail heavy on the stand but flies very nose heavy even without any weight on the nose. The cowl is a joke. The plastic is so thin you can see through it and cracks on the first landing if you are flying on grass.

GOT THE FUNTSER V2 FOR MY DAD ,HE IS 80 YEARS OLD,EYE SIGHT,AND REFLEXES NOT AS GOOD AS USE TO BE,BUILT THE PLANE GLOW,52 MAGUM 4 STROKE,DAVE BROWN40 TO45 ENGINE MOUNT,HAD TO CUT OUT MOUNT BETWEEM TOP TWO MOUNTING HOLES TO GET THE MOTOR TO GO BACK FAR ENOUGH,WITH A LITTLE HEAD SCATCHEN GOT HER IN HERE,HAVE TO TAKE THE MUFFLER,AN THE PIPE OFF TO GET THE COWL ON,BUT LOOKS GOOD IN THERE,LOVE THE PLANE,FLYS SUPER SLOW EVEN WITH OUT FLAPS,I DID SWAP OUT FRONT GEAR WITH DUBRO ,THE ALERON PUSH ROD LOOKED GREAT BUT WERE TO SHORT TO USE,USED 8 OZ. DUBRO TANK FLY 15 MINUETS STILL HAVE HALF A TANK .PLANE WEIGHT WAS 6 POUND ON THE MONEY,W/GLOW I THOUGHT THAT WAS REALLY GOOD,GAVE IT TO MY DAD ON HIS 80TH.BIRTHDAY ,HE LOVED,AND I LOVE IT,IT IS EASY TO SEE,AND FLY'S SUPER SLOW,I GIVE IT FIVE STARS.......................

This plan has proven to be extremely stable and a great flyer. An excellent transition to a larger plane. A great confidence builder. I have over eighty (80) flights on it so far and going strong.

This plane is a dream to fly! The flaps and low wing make this a great low wing trainer or just a darn good, fun flying plane. Flies great on 4-5S packs, floats in the air and I can average 30 min flight times. THAT'S RIGHT 30 MIN! My record is 45 min and I drive the sailplane guys nuts. Your neck will give out before this plane does.

I use mine for video and soon for a UAV project. I like to fly aerobatics too and while my batts are charging for my hotrod planes, I love to fly this gem. LOTS of hang time in the air!!!! I never go to the field without it.
