All metal planetary gearboxes for SPEED 400

Elegant overkill! 32mm long (1-1/4" excluding shaft), 29.5mm diameter (1-3/16") outer body CNC machined from barstock, glass-filled nylon gear ring with 3 carbon-steel gears, 4mm output shaft supported by two ballbearings, mounting screws.

Perfectly in-line output of prop shaft and easy 2-screw mounting to front of airplane. Use 4mm prop shaft adapters, GR605340 for regular airplane props, or HLAN2411 for folding AeroNaut props.

Planetary gearboxes for Mini AC or SPEED 400 motors

1-1/8" long (excluding shaft), 7/8" dia., 23 gram weight. Designed for use with the Mini AC motors as well as a standard Speed 400. Case and gear carrier machined from aluminum, the pinion and planet gears are machined from steel for long service life. 4mm hardened steel output shaft and planet gear assembly is mounted on 2 ballbearings for low friction and long life.

Suitable for power of up to 450 watts. Mounts to firewall with 2.5mm screws on 16mm spacing.

Very high quality gearboxes with a super ball bearing. Included are: the gearbox, the pinion gear, the screws for mounting to model and the small package of Loctite glue for pinion gear. The Propshaft adapter is not included with these gearboxes. Buy MJ8030.

The prop adapters are collet type for perfect centering on 3mm shaft. They include a prop nut but the fancy rounded prop nut is offered for scale and safety reasons.

2" diameter, 2" long. Has no exposed screws. Fits on MJ8030 or MJ8031 prop shaft adapter. Is cut to fit 2 bladed APC props.

"Front Adapters" allow you to mount MJ gearboxes
for SPEED 280 or SPEED 400 directly to the nose of an airplane

Gearbox mount

These screw to the front of MJ gearboxes to allow you to attach the gearbox directly to the nose of the airplane instead of having to mount the gearbox to the aft-located firewall.

The screw spacing for the Front Adapters is the same as the spacing of screws on the SPEED 280 or SPEED 400 motors.

A way to mount MJ Gearboxes to a flat plate

Gearbox mount

Plastic "strap" sets that are slightly larger diameter at the gearbox end and slightly smaller at the motor-only end so that they accurately mount MJ Gearbox with motor in place to a flat, cutout wood plate.

A more powerful drive for aerobatic "slowflyers"

Simprop drive unit

Includes Power Speed 300 6V motor, 5:1 geardrive, 8x6 APC prop. Best for medium speed slowflyers of about 250 sq.in wing area and up to 16 oz. weight. Use 7 cells of 500 or 600mAh.

Current flow about 6 Amps at full throttle. Use JE040 Jeti 04 Microprocessor motor controller. Now has red brass ("Rotguss") propshaft bearing. Gearbox prop shaft is threaded 8mm.

"1700 Series" Gear Drives for SPEED 400

Small motor/gear drives for electric airplanes. For SPEED 400 motors, and 6 to 8 cells. They have a sintered bronze bearing and side mounts so they can be mounted like a glow engine. Use 8-4, 9-5 props. Output shafts are 4mm diameter.
