Lots of fun to fly this airplane, especially for a novice like me. I have only one complaint and a possible recommendation. The weak point in the design is the pressed on/glued propeller and shaft. The propeller is fine but the shaft will take little to zero abuse. I made a zero power (stalled on purpose) approach as recommended in the directions. It was a bit too high and the plane nosed over before hitting the floor. The propeller had stopped prior to impact. The result was the metal shaft between the reduction gear (plastic) and the propeller snapped right at the rear of the propeller and flush with the rear surface of the propeller. This leaves you with a shaft that is now too short and a propeller (not broken) with a piece of the shaft wedged into the propeller. I have been thinking of how to fix this. My only idea is a sleeve to fit over the shaft piece that covers the exposed part of the propeller drive shaft. This sleeve could be installed prior to pressing on the propeller. The sleeve would but up against the surface of the reduction gear on the airplane end of shaft and the rear surface of the propeller on the other. This would relieve the shaft of crash related bending moments which lead to failure of the shaft. I have not tried this yet due to lack of time. For now, I guess I need to re-order a replacement reduction gear drive and motor assembly as well as another propeller. (or any ideas as to how to remove the piece of the shaft in the original propeller are appreciated.
