For the money you can't beat this great little racer. Simple to build, sleek looks and good handling. I only had a 4S 2200mah in inventory and was able to install with just enough room to close the hatch. I balanced at the 50mm point in the instructions by adding 1/2 ounce of weight under the horiz stab. .

This worked out to be perfect and the maiden was uneventful. The thrust generated provides a nice level of comfort for the first hand launch and the speed is very manageable for intermediate to advanced fliers.

My only complaint is the lack of information for any recommended throws so I set all the surfaces on the outer hole of the control horn and so far do not see any need to change. I would recommend using 20-30% expo for the ailerons if you have the ability in your transmitter. After 4+ minutes of flying I still had 46% left in the battery so the 1600mah should be just fine for the stock setup.

Now I'm on to making it a bit faster and have a nice little 1800kv motor coming from Hobby King. Should make this little speed demon even faster. Think I'll buy the orange one and make one stock and one the experimental version. ;-)

Fantastic performance! Went together quickly. Easily over 100MPH with 4 cell pack. Flew formation with my son and his Moray. Ruled the sky! Have someone else launch it for the first flight. Love it!

It is a fast plane. kinda prone to tip stalls. Sounds cool in flight with the cooling hole in the spinner. The airplane is complete as long as ya order the battery for it and you have a rx. The directions are poor but if you built a few airplanes it shouldn't be a problem. If you like speed this is definantly worth a look.

One would think that an experienced importer like Hobby Lobby would no longer tolerate the Chinglish manuals sent with products they import. I (and they) could rewrite the manual in about an hour and they did not bother. Hobby Lobby has been evaluating and testing the Moray for some time. I simply can't believe that they did not read the gibberish included in the box - Not even mission critical information about servo moments and the like is included. I am rather shocked that even the CG was noted

Just got the Moray Racer in this morning, Ordered the Red version. After 15 minutes, it was ready to fly, no gluing, all bolts together with screws into hard plastic supports. The only delay was for the battery supplied, it did not come with a connector on it or supplied. The rest of the airplane is complete, servos mounted, esc with deans type connector on it, motor, prop linkage all factory installed. I used my radio system a Futaba Fasst 7ch.
Hand launch, was no problem, just a little shakey as the ailerons were set very quick and the plane accellerates very fast. Pulled the throttle back to half and plane only slowed down just a little, about 90mph....A great flying airplane, very responsive, and at full throttle she will win races, makes twin edf jets look like they are mopeds...
Love this little devil, If you like going fast this one is for you. I use to race formula 1 years back and quickie pylon races and it brought back memories, this one would win a meet or 2 easily. 5 Stars from me, might have to get the other color and teach someone to fly it to have some fun racing again +++++++++++++
