The German Navy's heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen was launched in 1936 and commissioned in 1940. The ship became renowned from its role in the "Rheinubung" (Rhine Exercise) which it carried out jointly with the Bismarck. The cruiser remained on active service for the whole of the 2nd World War, and was transferred to the American Navy at the end of hostilities.
The model represents the Prinz Eugen as it was in 1942. This model expands the unique Graupner PREMIUM line - a range of extremely high-quality ready-made model boats. The model also features a large number of small metal items, all ready-made and factory-installed. The railings, catapult, companionways, ventilation grilles etc. consist of etched brass sheet components. The many detail features and fittings give the model a particularly interesting appearance. The delicate rigging is also completely factory-assembled.
To prepare the model for running all you have to do is install the RC system components and the drive battery, complete a small number of soldered joints, and the boat is ready for the water.
